Online Heritage Trail

The Trail, which is comprised of ten stops, starts and ends with  the National Museum at Collins Barracks and Larkin Community College.  In between, the stops take you to three of the statues along Dublin’s O’Connell Street - Daniel O'Connell, James Larkin and Charles Stewart Parnell. The fifth stop is a trip down memory lane and the focus here is on recollections of Dublin as shared by residents of the Lourdes Day Care Centre.
Over the course of this project we’ve researched local, social and political history.  We’ve undertaken interviews with relatives of Daniel O’Connell and Jim Larkin. We went on day trips to heritage sites such as Avondale House, Glasnevin Cemetery and the Transport Museum.  We got to sing songs, read poetry, tell stories and share history with each other.  We hope that what we discovered along the way will be of interest and enjoyment to you.
