This talk explores how The Irish Community Archive Network (iCAN) has enabled Clarecastle & Ballyea Heritage to tackle projects that would be impossible without the support of the iCAN team and their community archive website. Eric explores projects such as ‘Whose been Living in my House, 1855-1970′, the audio and video recording of local salmon fishermen, the showing of old cinefilm that brought Clarecastle and Ballyea Heritage fame on TG4, RTE and Nationwide and their involvement in the Dead Zoo Lab. These projects, Eric argues, would not have been possible without access to iCAN’s training, resources and their community archive website.
