Kiltormer is a rural village situated approx 40 miles from Galway City in East Galway. The name Kiltormer means "The Church of the Big Bush." The main livelihood of the area is farming. The Village contains a Church, a shop, two pubs, a Sports Complex, a new playground and the school which was built in 1964. The old school was built in 1850. The school is attended by over 50 pupils with 5 teachers. An extension was built on to the school in 2012.
