Finding & using OSi mapping: two websites explored

Talk details

This presentation examines two websites with OSi mapping. The first is UCD Library’s Digital Collection Ordnance Survey Ireland (OSi) 19th Century Historical Maps, which has 10-foot and 5-foot city, town, and village maps. This includes a demo to show how to find and take a print from a map.

The second website is OSI’s own National Townland and Historical Map Viewer, which has a range of historical maps and also recent aerial imagery. This demo will show how to view the townland boundary of a location and to find the date of the 25 inch and 6 inch series maps.

Jane Nolan is the Maps & GIS Librarian at the UCD Library, University College Dublin
