Talk details
The Registry of Deeds was established in 1707 as a voluntary system for recording the existence of deeds and conveyances. It holds over 5 million Memorials and 17,000 bound volumes which record details of property transactions from 1708 to the present day. As well as preforming a legal function, the records are a valuable source for family and local history in Ireland. The talk will give an introduction to the Registry of Deeds collections, outline how they can be searched, information they contain, and how we promote use and engagement with the collections.
Ellen Murphy is the Archive Manager at the Registry of Deeds
