Interview with Marie Mahon (Nee O'Shea)

In this Interview my mother’s first cousin Marie recalls my grandfather during the 1916 rebellion and his mother’s engagement with the Black and Tans as they operated a curfew in Ireland. She tells me stories of my grandfather I’ve never heard before and recounts the other family members including my great uncle Mattie whom the shop is called after. Her own mother ran it at one stage but her lack of boundaries and overly generous nature meant that it was impossible for her parents to make it into the successful enterprise that it would become.
