The Ha'penny Bridge

The Ha'penny Bridge opened in May 1816 as a pedestrian Bridge. Historical photos show the Guinness Barges, which transported the black beverage to the Royal Canal and Dublin Port, for further distribution, were constructed with stacks which could be lowered to allow the boats to pass under the bridges safely.
