'The History of Ireland in 100 Objects'

Every Object tells a story.....
A History of Ireland in 100 Objects uses artefacts to create a timeline of Ireland's past; from the earliest evidence of human activity to the modern day - one object at a time. Each one helps us to connect with the person that made it, those who used it and to the times in which they lived. At the National Museum of Ireland - Country Life you will find the empty cooking pot, emigrant's teapot, Boyne coracle and emigrant's suitcase.
In 2014, we challenged pupils to write a poem inspired by one of these objects. We had an overwhelming response and the standard was extremely high which made it very hard to judge. Thank you to everyone that sent in poems and 'congratulations' to all of our winners. Check out the winning entries here
