Kitchen Power: Oral History interviews

For the Kitchen Power exhibition, Dr Sorcha O'Brien and a group of volunteer interviewers collected over 60 oral history interviews about rural electrification in 2017 and 2018. The majority of these interviews were with women from around the country who remembered rural electrification, as well as some ESB staff. Clips from these interviews are displayed in the Kitchen Power exhibition and give a good idea of what the coming of electricity meant to rural women in the 1950s and 1960s, particularly on an emotional level.
