The Oseberg
By Sean G.D, 2nd Year
The Water horse of the Northern Giants
It carries the fearless frozen men
Across black blustery seas
The Gripping Beast at the bow and stern
Snarls in defiance at the ominous clouds
Traversing the churning waters
An oaken ram ploughing through waves
Carrying fish and plunder alike
The Godspeed of Odin fills their sails
At ten knots they travel ’round the coasts
Pillaging and ravaging as they go
None dare brave nor match their might
Then it ends its days buried in earth
Tapestries and treasures enshrined within
A tomb for the Viking Queen
