The Corleck Head

By Rebecca Sherry Robinson, 2nd Year

Object No.19 Corleck head, first or second century AD
National Museum of Ireland - Archaeology

Many years ago,

Underneath a blanket of soil,

A carved stone,

With 3 faces on it,

Was found…

Whose hands had carefully crafted it,

How long had it been there,

Hiding under the soil,

Waiting to be found…

Who is this mysterious person?

Who is it meant to depict?

Anyone?

Or no-one?

Many theories are swarming around,

Like bees in hive,

But no-one really knows,

Where it came from…

What is this mysterious stone?

Who is it meant to depict?

Anyone?

Or no-one?
