One Out One Hundred Objects, Corleck Head

By Sophia Tiger-Murphy, 1st year.

Object No. 19 Corleck head, first or second century AD
National Museum of Ireland - Archaeology

I’m one out of a hundred, objects

I’m three faced.

I work in the way of the earth.

My faces see things in lightness

and in darkness.

And each of my faces are telling

and observing.

but most of all, they are mindful of my surroundings.

I often wonder how people observe me.

It’s easy to be mistaken as being two faced.

Sometimes people have to move to get their heads around things.

And I am one of those things,

out of a hundred objects,

that have a story to tell.
