Life in Ireland

Now that I’m here in Australia cooking the dinner,

I suddenly start to think about my life in Ireland

And all the good times I used to have.

Two of the things I loved in Ireland,

Was going to a friend’s house for cup of tea in the afternoon,

Or the smell of porridge in the morning coming from the cooking pot.

Of course, I miss porridge and tea

But the thing I miss most is my family.

I’m here all alone in this small, narrow house.

How I hope we’ll beat Britain in the next war about.
