GAA MEDAL

By MAEVE O SULLIVAN, 2nd Year

I could feel the medal

Round my neck but it wasn’t there,

Oh heck!

It was just my imagination playing tricks

Already predicting the winning kick

I tightened my boots and stood

Up with a thud

Knowing I’d have no grip

In the mud

Then there I was running on the field

My mind picturing the Kelleher Shield

We play well through the game

But near the end the score

was the same.

Suddenly the ball was alone in the thick

Waiting for me to kick

I hit it hard with all my might

It went over the bar

what a flight

The roar went up id

Won the match

I was lifted into the

Air with a snatch

A medal was placed

Around my neck.
