GAA medal

By Ben Healy, Second Year

Great memories from that great day

As I remember receiving a medal instead of my pay.

For I skipped work that day to be at this great occasion,

Little did I know it would lead to a great celebration

We were the dominant team on the day of the game,

After all isn’t that every team’s aim

When the final whistle sounded I was happy for the team

On all of their faces was just one big gleam

Walking up those great steps, thinking of all those who had passed.

Wondering, would this feeling ever last?

87. GAA medal, 1887
