At last I've been found

By Emma Gordon, 2nd year

I have finally got here, two thousand and fourteen,

I’ve only been waiting about

Five thousand five hundred and forty three years.

That’s all.

I was handcrafted from a tall healthy oak tree.

So carefully made, Splint used to engrave me.

Many delicious meals were made in me,

Above a huge blaring fire.

I lived such a good life,

However the last few thousand years I’ve been lying in the soil,

All by myself, waiting for this moment to come.

And here it is.

At last I’ve been found.
