Wood, match sticks

My piece was inspired by the St Brigid’s cross. To me the center of one reminded me of a maze.  I then started to look at grids and lattices and became more fascinated with them, I like that they can be never-ending and random.  I used wood because I wanted to make 3D forms that I could put lattices of match-sticks in between. These are inspired by pylons and frameworks.  Then out of these I wanted to make a maze that was confined in a smaller space. I wanted there to be tension and balance in the piece, that’s the reason I have some balancing on each other. If you move one all of them would fall down.
