Interview with Pauline Spain

In this interview Pauline recalls Mattie’s sweetshop and it’s delights for children, in an area where resources were scarce and the promise of something lovely from Mattie’s was something really special to look forward to, even if that only happened once a week. She recalls my parents and how she and her pals experienced them as children.

You will notice in all of these interviews the recollection of these memories for all of us as we take a trip down memory lane inevitably results in me forgetting my role as interviewer. So often I’m back there in the wonderful memories with them.
