  • My Father Martin Callaghan emigrated from Co. Mayo in the 1920 s. He was 18. Settled in San Francisco and raised four children.

    Worked as a Longshoreman. Was active in Union issues all his life. Became President of International Longshoremens and Warehouse Union in San Francisco. Held office over many years.

    Born in Co. Mayo in 1908 in Laurdaun, Addergoole Parish..
