Flowers on doorstep

I’ve become fascinated by this beautiful event which many people take part in, but very few people seem to know much about. I’ve been trying to find out who does it. Do neighbours place flowers on each others doorsteps or only on their own, and I have no clear answers yet! Its lovely to record year by year which wild flowers are in bloom each 1st May and figure out what might this tell about the weather and climate. I’d be happy to give you copies of the photographs. I have hundreds.

Where does this take place?

On doorsteps all through the town of Westport Co. Mayo.

I have photographed the flowers throughout the town on 1st May in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.
