My memory

I went to the convent in Castlebar in the 50’s and it was in the national school the nuns told us about the May altar. I put mine on a table in my bedroom at home. First I put a white cloth edged with lace on the table and then Our Lady and two jars on either side. They were paste jars that were like vases. I collected wild flowers especially rockets which smelt beautiful. They grew wild everywhere, also buttercups and daisies and I prayed at this altar all during the month of May.

When did this happen?

May month in the 50’s and 60’s

Where did this happen?

In my house in Castlebar town
