Doors

Object No. 27 Donore handle, 700-720
National Museum of Ireland - Archaeology

Does a door always lead somewhere?

Is there a room beyond it, or a corridor?

Does the corridor lead anywhere?

Is there anything in the room, or is it empty?

Is the door even open?

Could it be locked?

If so, where’s the key?

Or is it already open?

Does it seem ajar?

Take a peek through the door.

Dare yourself.

In our world, not every door leads where we want.

We must take risks,

Travel a corridor that might not look promising,

Unlock a door that might not lead anywhere.

This is how we succeed.

Taking risks define “human.”

So take a peek.

There might be something inside.
