My memory

On May Day we got out of the press under the stairs, some small vases and we also had to get a small linen cloth with a lace edging. This was placed under the statue of Our Lady. Cowslips and primroses were put in the small vases each side of the statue. Also, my mother banned us from bringing May Blossom into the house – why I don’t know. This is my memory from Rathdowney, Co Laois

When did this happen?
