American Curate

This priest spent a short time ministering to his communities despite ill – health.

Patrick Brennan was born at Ballinamore, Kiltimagh, Co. Mayo on January 17th, 1898.   Unfortunately, there is not much information about his youthful life apart from his emigration to the U. S.

Studies

He entered Ferndale Connecticut to study for the priesthood where he was professed during 1921.

He contacted Tuberculosis during his time there but recovered so was ordained during 1925.

Appointments

Fr. Brennan was appointed to the Irish Mission Band in Philadelphia until it ceased to operate.  He was transferred then as a curate to the Blessed Sacrament parish in the same city.

Hospitalized

Due to his ill health he was hospitalized at various times but always when he recovered Fr. Brennan returned to work in several parishes attached to the Congregation at Millvale, Tiverton of Cornwells.

Fr. Brennan was just forty – four years when his demise occurred during June 1944 while at his last posting in St. Joseph’s, Bay City.
