Achill Literary Heritage Trail

This web page is presented by a first year group of students (aged 12 – 13 yrs)  at Coláiste Pobail Acla, Achill, Co. Mayo, in response to an invitation in the local media to submit material to Our Irish Heritage.

Coláiste Pobail Acla is the newly formed second level school at Achill Sound, resulting from the amalgamation in Sept. 2011, of McHale College and Scoil Damhnait. The participating students live in the area stretching from Dooagh to Ballycroy, and including Currane and Mulranny. Many writers and publications are associated with this beautiful part of Mayo, and in the area itself there is also a strong tradition of local publication. The students bring you on a literary tour of their home place, giving you an idea of its rich literary heritage.
